Awakening Shark Dive 8am & 11am (Certified Diver)

The Awakening Shark Dive for Certfiied Divers (minimum age 10 years)

Duration: 80 Minutes (approx, including boat travel)

Location: Yawake Reef, departing twice daily from Barefoot Kuata Resort, Kuata Island, Yasawas Islands, Fiji

IMPORTANT NOTE 1: You must complete the online dive medical and waiver (online dive medical & waiver) before making a booking. If you are advised to seek medical clearance from you physician (doctor) do not make a booking. If you secure dive approval from your physician (doctor) please email cbrskuata@bfcfiji.com to make your booking. 

IMPORTANT NOTE 2: For health and safety reasons, you cannot participate in this dive if you are flying within 24 hours of the dive. The 8am dive concludes at +/- 9.45am, the 11am dive concludes at +/- 12.45pm.

IMPORTANCE NOTE 3: If participants arrive for the dive, and have not completed the dive medical form, and do not meet the medical requirements, no refund will be issued. 

We recommend once you've checked into Barefoot Kuata Island Resort, you visit our dive shop to meet our friendly and knowledgeable dive team. Let them know the date and time you've booked and they'll advise you what time to show up for your pre-dive briefing and gear up, this is usually +/- 30 minutes prior to the dive. 

The 'Awakening Shark Dive' is a new-age Fiji Shark Dive designed by Marine Biologist and shark authority Dr. Thomas Vignaud PHD. Over 3 years in its planning, design and now operating for over 10 years 'The Awakening Shark Dive' is a thrilling adventure that divers can experience. Ecological best practice ensures the dive has no negative impact on the sharks, combined with strict OHS best practice to ensure diver safety. 

Divers are escorted by a Barefoot Shark Encounters dive team of 5 or more depending on diver numbers. Their role is to look after you and monitor shark behaviour to ensure diver safety, there are no compromises with a detailed briefing conducted pre-dive. 

The 'Awakening Shark Dive' includes:

• Use of dive equipment.
• Return dive boat transfers to Yawake Reef.

Proceeds from the Awakening Shark Dive contribute towards ongoing Shark Conservation Research and Namara Primary School, Waya Lailai Island, Yasawa Islands, Fiji. 

Terms & Conditions 

• All guests partaking in any dive must complete a dive waiver & medical questionnaire, should a medical condition be identified, it will be assessed by a Dive Instructor. YOU MUST PRESENT YOUR DIVE CARD AT CHECK-IN. Minimum age to partcipate 10 years and children must be accommpanied by an adult. 
• Should you book knowing you have a medical condition and have not completed an assessment form you may be refused the right to dive and no refunds will be issued. 
• All payments with a credit card incur a 3.5% fee. The transaction will be narrated as Crystal Blue Reef Safari.  

Cancellation and No-Shows

• A 100% refund for the dive cost only will be returned if cancelled more than 24 hours prior to the dive. To cancel either email info@barefootsharkencounters.com or call 891 6469.
• Cancellations made 24 hours or less prior to the dive and no-shows will result in a 100% cancellation/no-show fee.
